Reminder: Quarterly Skype for Business User’s Groups

This is your quarterly reminder that the US Skype for Business Users Groups are coming up.

Going forward, you need to register at skypeusersgroup.com.  The Meetup site will no longer be used.

These are always a great time and a great place to network with your peers and make those relationships.  I’ll be there as well as many experts, there will a Cloud PBX discussion and Polycom reps on site to show off interoperability and some cool devices.

Hi Anthony, wow its hard to figure out how to send you an email. Am interested in your Backup Lync 2013 Script. However, am wondering if it will work with OCS2007R2? Or do you know of another script that will export the contacts from OCS2007 and into Skype for Business Online? Thank you

Yeah, a contact me page might help right? I need to get on that. If you want to email me, you can email anthony at caragol.com. So the short answer is no, the PowerShell command won’t work with OCS, for that you would want to use dbimpexp which is not PowerShell based: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/ff899323.aspx but even if you get it out, you can’t easily get it into Skype Online at the moment because there’s no equivalent PowerShell command there either. Your best bet would be a quick upgrade to Lync and then a hybrid move to Skype for Business Online. Short of that, you may need a third party tool that works with Skype Online. I’m not sure how well it works as I haven’t tried it, but someone posted in the comment section here that they have one: http://www.skypeadmin.com/2015/04/13/pre-populate-contacts-lync-skype/
